Accessibility
This site is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard only navigation, screen magnification, or reduced motion settings.
Standard applied
The site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at Level AA, which is the standard commonly referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
What has been done
- All text and interface colour combinations meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast minimum of 4.5 to 1 for body text and 3 to 1 for large text and interface components.
- Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, including the gallery and the partnership formats. A visible focus outline marks the current element.
- A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
- Semantic landmarks and a single logical heading order are used on every page.
- Every photograph has descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Form fields have visible labels above the input, helper text where useful, and error messages below the field, announced to screen readers.
- Motion respects the operating system reduced motion setting. With that setting on, entrance animations, parallax, and the sliding partnership bar are switched off.
- Layouts reflow to a single column on small screens and remain usable at 200 percent browser zoom.
- The site was tested with automated accessibility checks with zero violations reported at desktop and mobile widths.
Known limitations
- The photo gallery scrolls horizontally. It is fully operable with the left and right arrow keys once focused, and every image has a caption and alternative text.
